Be The Best
Company Background
Life in the Territorial Army gives you everything you have in your normal job, plus a bit more. More adventure. More opportunities. More money. You'll get the chance to try things you'll never do anywhere else. You'll be able to get (and stay) fit. You'll experience new challenges, travel and adventure. You'll enhance your employability. And you'll make friends with people you can trust and rely on.
Skills and Experience
Good teamwork is vital throughout the Army. In the TA your teamwork skills will be built to a level rarely found in other jobs. You will make strong friendships, with like-minded people, forged out of shared experiences. TA members come from a huge variety of backgrounds. They bring many different social, occupational and cultural experiences from their civilian lives. But what they share is a desire to develop new skills and achieve new goals. As well as frequent camps and expeditions, there are regular social functions and sports events which are a fun way to socialise with your TA friends and colleagues.
Personal Qualities
Whether scuba diving in Cyprus or off-road driving on Salisbury Plain. Whether completing active service in the field, or learning a new trade, the TA gives you the chance to do something different. You may choose a TA trade that translates directly into your civilian life, widening your experience and CV. Or you may choose to learn something completely new. Either way, you'll be more employable. Employers generally see TA people as being more committed, dependable and confident.
Additional Information
Don't worry, you don't need to be super fit to join the TA, but being a soldier is an active, outdoor life. If you're fairly fit and exercise regularly prior to joining up, you should have no difficulty coping with the training. And once you join, the TA will help you to stay in shape.
