Mercury FM Public File
Each local commercial radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc.
These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK's radio regulator.
This Public File contains details of the elements that Ofcom regulate, such as music tracks, local news etc. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for our local community.

News Bulletin Schedule:
Weekdays: Mercury FM broadcasts news bulletins on the half-hour between 0600 and 0900 and hourly at 1000 and from 1600 to 1800 with a half hourly bulletin at 17.30 and 18.30. These bulletins contain a mix of local, national and world stories, along with local and national sport, weather and entertainment news.
Weekends: Mercury FM broadcasts news bulletins containing local, national and world news between 0800 and 1200 on Saturdays and Sunday.
Additionally, national bulletins are broadcast from 1100 to 1500 weekdays and 1900, 2200, 0100 through until 0500 on weekdays.

Mercury FM's weekday output from 0600 to 1000 and 1300 to 1900, and weekend output from 0800 to 1200 is produced and presented from our Crawley studios
Other programming is produced at various studios, owned and operated by Mercury FM's parent company Global Radio Services Ltd

Ofcom, the government regulator with responsibilities for local radio, has produced localness guidelines that this station adheres to. These guidelines can be read here

Events/charities support or coverage
Mercury FM operates its own registered charity and runs events throughout the year, including Operation Santa, to raise money to help charities and voluntary groups in our transmission area. More information on the Mercury FM Charity Appeal can be found here
We publicise local events on our website and broadcast the same every Saturday morning, this provides free publicity to charitable and non profit making local events and organisations. See our event section here
We also aim to support 80 percent of the major events in our area and are key partners in Cancer Research UK's Race For Life events in our area.
We also regularly visit and charitable fairs, open days and fetes with our Thunder Crew.
